ICDC’S key focus areas are as follows:

INDUSTRIAL SECTOR

 MANUFACTURING.

The areas of focus were identified as, Electrical and Mining

Electrical - transformers manufacturing Partnerships.

Mining - ancillary services like opportunities for financing transport and heavy earth moving equipment used in mining.

 AGRI-BUSINESS –VALUE ADD

Agricultural support -like cold storage facilities and refrigerated transport in fishing and horticulture in the appropriate counties where fishing and horticulture activities are undertaken.

Agro-processing - like honey processing, cashew nuts processing and marketing and fruit puree/juice processing and marketing.

ENERGY.

Independent power producers - mini hydro energy producers

Consumable fuels - ancillary services in coal power energy

Alternative energy - this will include solar, wind, geothermal and bio-fuel energy.

TRANSPORT

Roads - ancillary services, bus terminus and bus parks and management of the same.

Rail - setting up of rail stations in partnership with Kenya Railways.

 WASTE MANAGEMENT/RECYCLING

COMMERCIAL SECTOR

Real estate construction - Assisting in growth of the required housing units per annum

Trading-to target entrepreneurs in the commodities business,

Education- focus on tertiary Institutions where there is a huge opportunity.

ICT – Seek for Partnership with upcoming ICT businesses.

Tourism - Seek Partnership with stakeholders in the industry towards setting up and revamping of related facilities.

Health - Seek partnership towards financing of cottage hospitals and medical equipments manufacture & leasing
